All Saints’ Day in Guatemala

In Guatemala, All Saints’ Day is celebrated visiting cemeteries, where hundreds of families gather to leave flowers to loved ones who have already left. Kites are also flown with the November winds that are characteristic for this time of year; and the traditional “fiambre” with cold meat cuts are tasted.

According to historians, the tradition originally came from Spain, but over the years it adapted to Guatemalan culture. Several countries in Latin America celebrate this day as well, but it should be noted that only in Guatemala we practice the giant kites flight in Sumpango, Sacatepéquez. We are waiting for you with one of the best locations: La Antigua Guatemala!
